We normally work in Hardwoods only. Generally speaking, hardwoods are species that lose their leaves in the fall or winter (deciduous). This is not a hard and fast rule and has very little to do with the "hardness" of the wood. Some hardwoods, like Basswood and Poplar, are actually fairly soft.
