Item 040308 is made of American Chestnut. The lumber used
in this piece was milled in the early 1900's when all the Chestnut
trees in America were destroyed by a blight. It is truly one of a
kind. Note that the worm holes, common in Chestnut of that period have
been repaired from the inside to maintain air-tight integrity without
destroying the aesthetics. |
